Team/Role Overview

The Markets Business Management presence based in Belfast was established in 2016 and has grown to support multiple sales and trading desks within Markets and Security Services.

The business management role is key to enabling business growth, facilitating new business initiatives, product expansion and driving technology change, whilst maintaining a sound control environment and will cover a range of identified opportunities.

What you’ll do

The position will report to a Belfast based manager within Global Rates and will work closely with colleagues based in London and New York and multiple countries throughout the globe. Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Business Administration - Create & Provide effective metrics to stakeholders and senior management team. Ad hoc administration tasks that support the activities of the business including PowerPoint presentations and excel analysis
  • Controls - Seek out and ensure corrective actions are implemented for control related issues across the spectrum of control functions with a goal of driving a robust, efficient and scalable business model across all traded asset classes.
  • Business Development & Project Management - Participation in business-driven projects across functions, assisting in driving implementation, tracking tasks and working closely with relevant stakeholders. Help to provide input into and drive technology change, process and control framework enhancements.
  • Communication - Foster excellent relationships between the businesses and various support functions. Communicate (written and oral) information within and between the businesses and support functions. Communicate effectively within the business management teams locally and globally
  • Technical Capabilities  - High level of computer literacy especially in the Microsoft Office product suite and work proficiently with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.  Ability to code to basic VBA macros, QlikView, PowerBI, Python or SQL skills an advantage.

What we’ll need from you

  • Experience in financial markets or related industry, either in business or support functions preferred
  • Exposure to interest rate products or other financial markets’ products would be an advantage
  • Excellent communications skills (written / verbal) at all organisational levels.
  • Results/task orientated with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise effectively and resolve conflicting priorities.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and autonomously.
  • Strong MS Office skills including Excel and PowerPoint.
