The Credit Portfolio Senior Officer II is a senior-level position responsible for leading activities including credit review, credit approvals and monitoring the portfolio to identify credit migration in coordination with the Risk Management team. The overall objective of this role is to manage Citi's portfolio exposure to client and counterparties globally.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead risk management activities associated with the retail credit portfolio
  • Validate new account strategy development, account management strategy development and non-scoring models
  • Ensure compliance with partner contract SLAs and management
  • Conduct internal and external oversight reviews
  • Partner with various groups including Relationship Management and the Operating Committee
  • Meet and exceed Partner/Citi Profit & Loss (P&L) and performance expectations
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience in financial services and risk management required
  • Experience with portfolio performance monitoring and diagnostics
  • Knowledge of toolsets including behavior scores, internal and external data sources, data mining/segmentation applications
  • Knowledge of card product P&L dynamics and the interaction of consumer behaviors, product configuration and market/economic environments
  • Knowledge and understanding of the retail partner business model
  • Proven analytic and negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated successful in managing risk policy/strategy through the economic cycle and/or in various environments
  • Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Fluency in English is mandatory
  • Senior Credit Officer initial

The Risk Management Country Officer (RMCO) for Guatemala has direct responsibility for the wholesale credit portfolio providing Risk Senior Credit Officer (SCO) coverage for the country as well as other countries in Central America & the Caribbean.

The RMCO is a senior risk representative that serve as the single point of contact for franchise-level Risk matters in each country. They play a critical role in oversight of review and challenge performed by Independent Risk Management in country and serve as key Risk partners to the respective Citi Country Officers (CCOs).  RMCOs are expected to demonstrate working knowledge of all Risk verticals, regulatory issues, internal audit processes and issues, and awareness of how external events can affect their countries' exposures, liquidity, and operations.  They are expected to build and maintain networks within countries and regions, foster teamwork among Risk teams in the countries, participate actively in regional and global Risk Management forums, and promote awareness of issues and concerns specific to their countries and regions. RMCOs provide critical second line of defense challenge in line with the Risk Governance Framework; they oversee all Risk-related regulatory and governance matters across all legal entities in each country and ensure timely escalation and resolution of Risk issues from all Risk segments through established escalation channels to the appropriate country, regional or global governance committees. 

Among key responsibilities of the RMCO, and as required by local regulators, are: Regulatory requirements, reporting, and engagement, Governance Standards, Stress Testing and Capital Planning, IFRS9, Legal Entity Management, Crisis Management, Climate Risk , Environmental, Social and Governance, and any additional franchise responsibility related to core role and responsibilities as second line of defense.
