The Data Governance Lead is a position in Citi’s Chief Data Office (CDO) within the Chief Operating Office (COO) organization. The mandate of COO is to lead the Transformation efforts of the firm to deliver client excellence, improved operating efficiency and returns. As part of COO, the CDO organization is responsible for an enterprise-wide effort to transform and strengthen the firm’s data, modernize data infrastructure while simplifying the data operating model and executing the strategic priorities for the firm. The CDO defines and enforces data-related policies and standards across Citi and equips the firm with the tools required to take ownership and accountability for data governance and management. The CDO comprises of four functional groups: Business Aligned Data Leads, Core Data Delivery, Data Enablers, and Data Functions & Partners.

This position will support the COO & CBNA CDO to adopt a data culture and data-driven mindset; partner with COO stakeholders to drive compliance with the Citi Data Governance Policy (CDGP) and the Citi Data Governance Standard (CDGS) and adoption of data governance capabilities; and provide input into and report on metrics that measure progress and risk reduction.

Responsibilities

Data Strategy and Implementation

  • Partner with COO & CBNA stakeholders to implement data governance and operating model for COO & CBNA
  • Coordinate COO & CBNA initiatives with the data governance program including Consent Order prioritization.
  • Drive compliance with policies/standards (e.g., data quality) and adoption of data governance capabilities
  • Ensure effective project management for COO & CBNA to deliver its portion of the data transformation program.
  • Define, control, and track progress of data initiatives (e.g., use cases specific to COO & CBNA)
  • Provide input into and provide metrics that measure progress and risk reduction for decision making on a regular basis.
  • Support execution against multiple contending priorities simultaneously and various ad-hoc projects critical to the COO organization as well as researching and drafting materials for presentations for ‘deep dives’ into topics.
  • Lead team meetings and working sessions to ensure clear cross-functional communications and set expectations.

Data Stakeholder Engagement

• Inspire COO & CBNA to adopt a data culture and data-driven mindset

• Drive alignment where possible based on stakeholders, processes etc. and have a standard escalation and resolution model across COO & CBNA


Experience

  • 10+ years overall business management experience in a complex, financial organization, with particular focus in data space highly preferred.
  • 5-10 years in data and technology, at least 5 in data management preferred
  • 5+ years in finance industry
  • 5+ years in executive / strategy role
  • Bachelor's/University degree, master’s degree preferred.

Skills

  • Strong data and technological knowledge, covering recent topics such data governance, data domains.
  • Strong leadership experience in a Data Governance/ Data Management/or related area.
  • Strong negotiation, influencing and stakeholder management skills across a variety of stakeholders at different levels.
  • Proven ability to execute large complex change programs.
  • Strong project management leadership.
  • Analytical ability to develop and implement new concepts and tools.
  • Ability to quickly grasp and master new concepts / requirements and related product / functional knowledge

Education

  • Bachelors/University degree, Master’s degree preferred
  • Data Quality/Data Management Certification preferred.

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$156,160.00 - $234,240.00
