Risk Operations Senior Manager – VP CCB

Institutional Credit Management (ICM) at Citi was formed to transform the way we execute on one of our core capabilities, Wholesale Credit. We are seeking an experienced individual to join Credit Risk Management Services group to partner with each of our core capabilities as we work to transform the lending operating model. In this role you will be responsible for supporting transaction lifecycle activities, establishing processes and procedures to align with policies, and working with technology to enhance system controls.  You will be supported by the partnership of our global team and the surrounding wholesale lending franchise.

The Risk Operations Senior Manager accomplishes results through the management of professional

team(s) and department(s). Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area.

Contributes to standards around which others will operate. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the entire function. Requires basic commercial awareness. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Has responsibility for volume, quality, timeliness and delivery of end results of an area. Responsibility for planning, budgeting and policy formulation within Citi Commercial Bank (CCB). Responsible for the teams daily resource planning. Informal responsibility of a team, which may include supervision of people, budget and planning, to include duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, training, disciplinary and terminations and may include budget approval.

Responsibilities:

• Oversees, supervises processing of approved credits to ensure line releases are done in accordance to the controls in place.

•Ensures all workflows and controls are in place in accordance to the Wholesale Credit Policy and local regulatory guidelines, and are completed timely

•Reviews guidelines and regulations issued from time to time and ensure that gaps are remediated, team’s procedure manuals are kept up to date.  

•Liaises and works in partnership with stakeholders including Risk, Business, Legal and Product

• Enhances productivity through engagement with technology to implement automations and workflow realignments

• Hands on supervisor adept at coordination of resources to ensure success of CRMS Team. Oversight of  BCMA and CCB late shift staff.
• Performs checker function for assigned systems or team with coverage of late shift (9pm EST)
• Influence and ensure Team Culture is consistent with Citi Policies
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets. Accomplished at driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues.
• Acts with full transparency, as well as effectively supervising the activity of others and creating accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years experience preferably in banking/financial service/analytics industry

• Hands on experience in credit documentation review, knowledge of credit policies, guidelines and procedures surrounding extensions of credit a plus

• Excellent understanding of Regulatory guidelines pertaining to Credit and Risk policy and guidelines

• Strong literacy in Microsoft Excel

• Attention to detail imperative in all aspect of this role

Education:

• Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree a plus
