The Global KYC Country Requirements Sr Analyst  is responsible for the management, maintenance, communication and implementation of the end-to-end Global KYC Policy Country Requirements for APAC countries  across all Citi lines of business, including related FAQs, KYC (CitiKYC) systemic enhancements, and reporting to various KYC subcommittees and the Global KYC Program Committee. 

This position involves the following main areas of responsibilities:

  • Change management of the end-to-end integration of APAC  specific local regulatory KYC requirements into Citi’s policies and systems
  • Provide credible challenge, and act as the approver, to ensure the accuracy of and compliance with local KYC regulatory requirements    
  • Primary liaison with APAC country AMLCOs, and Audit and Regulators related to the management of local KYC regulatory requirements
  • Assess current country requirements to ensure consistency in terminology and requirements

The role requires the ability to process a wide range of information pertaining to money laundering and regulatory compliance risks.  The role also requires excellent critical thinking and high quality written and presentational skills, as the position involves direct and regular interactions with senior organizational stakeholders, industry forum representatives, and colleagues at peer institutions.

In this role, you’re expected:

  • Collaboration with APAC country AMLCOs, including establishing minimum criteria and expectations for the communication and update of local regulatory requirements, as well as providing credible challenge to facilitate proper execution of local regulatory requirements
  • Ongoing assessment and enhancement of Country Requirements guidance and related FAQs to ensure compliance with local KYC regulatory requirements, including changing technologies and other industry best practices and trends
  • Communication, tracking and reporting related to the Country Requirements guidance process to all applicable committees and forums including the Global KYC Program Committee
  • Collaboration with ICRM LOB teams identifying local KYC implementation issues, trends, and other matters that require further review and assessment
  • Collaboration with the CitiKYC technology teams to define Policy expectations for the design of local regulatory requirements in Citi’s primary KYC system, CitiKYC, including the development of Scoping Items (SIs) and business and functional requirement documents (BRD/FRDs)
  • Provide feedback on the CitiKYC Book of Work to ensure prioritization of local regulatory requirements and key local compliance considerations
  • Work closely with the CitiKYC technology teams to develop a tailored approach to more quickly implement changes on a recurring basis and that changes are being thoroughly tested through UAT
  • Collaboration with the KYC Operations on implementation of new country requirements assessment and advise on Ops/Business controls to ensure adherence to country requirements
  • Review and provide feedback on business KYC operations training, procedures, and communications related to new country requirements
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

As a successful candidate, you’d ideally have the following skills and exposure:

  • 5-8 years relevant experience
  • AML Certification
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated and detail oriented
  • Advanced analytical skills Knowledge of the laws applicable to money laundering, including the Bank Secrecy Act, The USA PATRIOT Act, US Treasury AML guidelines, OFAC requirements, and Suspicious Activity Reporting requirements
  • Proficient in Excel and Word – ability to learn multiple system applications quickly
  • Prior work experience in a financial institution and experience in a control function, especially AML Compliance preferred
  • Ability to work simultaneously with multiple conflicting priorities, timelines and stakeholders
  • Unwavering commitment to co-operative and collaborative working
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work across functions and cultures
  • Education: Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience
