Role Introduction / Overview:
The Corporate Banking Cluster Finance Lead is a senior level position responsible for providing management with analysis and insight of Citi’s financial results in coordination with the broader Finance team.

Business / Team Overview:

The Corporate Banking Cluster Finance Lead supplies the Banking Chief Financial Officer, business leadership and other senior management with analysis and insight into the financial results and projections. Through this analysis, the team facilitates decision making to drive performance and strategy of global products, regions and functions, and also for use with external analysts, regulators and investors.

Deliverables include, but are not limited to, monthly performance analyses, target setting and forward-looking analytics for a variety of internal and external stakeholders. The team also sets balance sheet and capital consumption targets, manages the annual budget, quarterly outlooks and forecasts, competitor analytics, and the Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review process to drive the long term performance of the franchise.

Some of the key responsibilities in the role:

  • Drive forward looking processes including forecasts, strategic/operating plans, monthly outlooks, and review results
  • Perform analysis and deliver presentations related to the financial performance of Citi and its competitors
  • Generate analytics for quarter end flash results, related highlights, Board of Directors reports, and ongoing Business reviews
  • Partner with various global functional (i.e. Product Control, Financial Planning & Analysis, Treasury, Tax etc.) and business stakeholders to deepen Lead Finance Officer’s analysis and manage various processes around actuals and forward-looking financials
  • Manage the delivery of full range of services to Corporate Banking and interact with peers internally/externally, including regulators and professional organizations
  • Advise internal clients on the implications of business trends, issues, operating environment changes, and firm/business unit strategy
  • Support the Corporate Banking Lead Finance Officer, business head(s) and other senior management with commercial insight and analyses regarding financial results, projections and strategy
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards

What knowledge, skills and experience we’ll need from you: 

  • Extensive relevant experience within financial services
  • Experience providing financial analysis for monthly forecasts, strategic multi-year forecasts, and annual budgets
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills with an emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • The role requires a strong analytical approach to client, product and financial strategy together with leadership skills that significantly rely on influence and building strong partnerships to execute business and financial plans in a systematic, measurable, and effective way.
  • The ideal candidate should demonstrate proven ability to work together with multiple stakeholders across Corporate Banking, Finance, Functions, Operations and Technology.
  • The candidate must be able to work effectively in a cross-functional environment without close supervision and with colleagues who may not be in the same geographic location.
