The Intern Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for assisting clients in raising funds in the capital markets, as well as in providing strategic advisory services for mergers, acquisitions and other types of financial transactions in coordination with the Institutional Banking team. The Intern Analyst also serves as an intermediary in trading for clients. The overall objective of this role is to act as strategic advisor to our clients by formulating investment strategies and raising capital for clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in client mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, financial restructurings, underwriting, and distributing equity, debt, and derivative securities
  • Collect and analyze company information to assist with various activities, including conducting industry research, and the revision and organization of financial data
  • Analyze data and develop financial models, including company valuations, discounted cash flow analysis, financing, and comparative analyses
  • Create and finalize new business development presentations
  • Coordinate tasks with internal and external working teams
  • Prepare required internal documentation, including control and compliance regulations
  • Participate in Citi's mentorship program, which provides further training and guidance
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.


Qualifications:

  • 0-2 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of the global or domestic business landscape is a plus, but not required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Desire to develop knowledge of the financial industry
  • Proven commitment to integrity and ethical decision-making
  • Demonstrated ability to remain unbiased in a diverse working environment


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience

Our DCM Team in Paris is currently looking for an Intern Analyst to start in July 2024. We are advising our clients regarding the issuance of various fixed income products and their capital structure. As an intern analyst in the DCM team, you will get the unique opportunity to work alongside a small team where you will be able to actively participate in day-to-day tasks as well as work closely with other related departments such as Fixed Income Sales and Corporate & Investment Bankers.

Your time here will look something like this...

•  Supporting senior team members in the origination& execution of live transactions that include benchmark bonds as well as private placements for European Financial Institutions and Agencies, with a focus on France, Belgium, and Switzerland.

•  Preparation of pitch books during the preliminary stages of a transaction

•  Collecting market information to support client coverage and decision making

•  Preparation of term sheets and indicative pricing updates

•  Condensing research from a vast variety of sources and prepare macro and credit market updates for our clients

•  You are available to start in July 2024 until December 2024.

•  You are currently enrolled in a top ranked Business School or University that can provide an internship agreement

•  You are fluent in French and English

•  You have a very good analytical ability

•  You have strong MS Office skills - Bloomberg and Excel VBA skills would be an asset

•  With a student status and related visa covering the whole internship period
