CCA IBRC Sr Analyst

The role of the CCA IBRC Sr Analyst is to provide support to the Cluster Head and all IBRC Officers in CCA in all aspects related to the management of the control environment, as defined by the Operational Risk Management Policies and in particular as IBRC as coordinators of the First Line of Defense in all aspects related to the management of : - the Self-Assessment Process (GRC/MCA), - Operational Losses and Near Misses, - Issues, - Fraud, - the Business and Risk Control Committee (BRCC), - Escalation, - Governance initiatives, - other Governance Committees, if required, - standardization of processes surrounding the control environment, - dashboards and other reporting mechanisms, - reporting to Senior Management Manager, - support to IBRC in countries in specific related projects/initiatives, also acting as backup in case of absences, - data initiatives (sharepoints, share folders, data organization and classification), end of quarter activities, - Annual Risk Assessments, - audit readiness and overall, any activity related to improve the control environment at CCA

Key roles and responsibilities:

  • Support the IBRC CCA Cluster Head in the execution of the following activities cluster-wise:

    • End of Quarter and Annual Risk Assessments and overall all  GRC taking place at the end of the quarters

    •  Preparation and Review of the Quarterly Attestation of Operational Losses

    • Involvement in all initiatives designed to identify and remediate control issues,

    • Preparation of material for control forums and management meetings (CCA Excos, Monthly Business Reviews, Escalation reports to Clusters and region, including Strategic and Reputational  Committees, Quarterly Risk Assessment to the Plan, LATAM BRCC and others)

    • Identification and Monitoring the ICAAPs related models and all related Model Management tasks under CCOs ownership

    • Maintenance of SharePoint and CCA repositories

    • Plans oriented to improve the level of compliance with Data Management Policies

    • Keeping tracking of status of audits and all independent reviews performed in the cluster

    • Participation in all initiatives intended to improve the control environment (pre-assessments, regional, cluster and local exercises)

    • Involvement in actions intended to continuing streamlining the CCA Governance Model,

    • Standardization initiatives for the cluster

The Operational Risk Policy, in section 2.1, defines the responsibilities of the First Line of Defense: The business owns its risks, including its operational risk, and is responsible for its management.  Additionally, Manager’s Control Assessment Standards, in section 2.4 MCA Roles And Responsibilities determines that MCA Entity Owners and Entity Process Owners – are responsible for managing day-to-day operational risks within the MCA Entity and implementing appropriate controls and processes to monitor the effectiveness of internal controls that mitigate the most significant operational risks, including ICFR. Related responsibilities include implementing corrective action plans to mitigate emerging risk and control issues, assessing the adequacy of control design and monitoring methods, ensuring the adequacy of documentation and reporting in support of SOX and Compliance needs, determining MCA entity ratings, and reporting/escalating risk and control issues (including root causes) through the MCA/BRCC structures and as otherwise required by Citi policy or applicable law and regulation. Resources with appropriate subject matter expertise in operational risks and controls should be identified at the MCA entity or Managed Segment/Geography level to ensure consistent implementation of MCA Standards. Responsibilities include: defining and collating documentation to support MCA activities, determining issue materiality and MCA entity Ratings, ensuring adequate coverage of ICFR and, as appropriate, assistance with the consolidation of MCA results for BRCC reporting and other communications.

The role of the CCA IBRC Sr Analyst is to support the IBRC Cluster Head and IBRC Heads in CCA countries to maintain the Risk Appetite under control.

Other Functions of the position in support to the main functions

  • Support to IBRC in the countries where assistance is needed

  • Act as a backup for IBRC in the countries when needed

Qualifications:

  • 5-8 years of relevant experience

  • Undergraduate degree (majors in in Economics, Finance and alike)

  • MBA or other advanced degree in Economics, Finance or related areas.

  • Extensive knowledge of financial markets and products; extensive work experience

  • Analytical inquisitiveness and problem solving ability; an ability to ask insightful questions, break analytical challenges into workable components and draw meaningful conclusions

  • Good knowledge of the ICG businesses would be highly desirable as well as previous experience in Risk Management, Control and Compliance functions.

  • Fluent in Spanish and English - candidate must be able to write reports, make presentations and articulate them in a clear, concise manner in both languages.

  • Ability to sift through complexity and see issues clearly

  • Drive and determination – high energy level, but dispassionate and independent
