The position is with the Product and Analytics group, part of the Enterprise Excellence organization.

The Enterprise Excellence (EE) team is a group within the Operations and Technology (O&T) that designs solutions to enhance transparency; empowers Operations and Functions to improve processes; and evolves the organization through continuous improvement and simplification. The organization is responsible for defining, deploying, and driving alignment and progress against a firm-wide framework that reduces operational risk, standardizes workforce optimization, and improves process health. The data management initiative, within the Products & Analytics group, is about maintaining the highest standards of data quality and integrity to ensure accurate and reliable data driven insights. As part of our continued commitment to excellence, we are seeking a talented Data Scientist focusing on data management & data quality.

As a Data Scientist in the group, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of our data assets. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement data quality standards, processes, and best practices. Leveraging your expertise in data analysis and quality assurance methodologies, you will identify and mitigate data quality issues, monitor data quality metrics, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the overall quality of our data.

Key responsibilities:

  • Understand the products and processes in the group and undertake meticulous data analysis to develop an automated and scalable framework to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.

  • Establish data profiling techniques and data quality metrics to measure and track the performance of data quality initiatives.

  • Collaborate with data engineers, IT, and business stakeholders to define and implement data quality standards, policies, and procedures.

  • Provide guidance and support to internal teams on data quality best practices, data cleansing techniques, and data quality improvement strategies.

  • Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in data quality management, data profiling, data cleansing tools and AI/ML.

  • Collaborate with data governance teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to data quality and privacy.

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • 6 to 8 years of relevant experience, and 5 + years of experience in data science, machine learning, quality assurance and data management roles

  • Strong understanding of data quality concepts, methodologies, and best practices, with good exposure to data quality tools and platforms.

  • Experience and understanding of data profiling techniques, data cleansing methods, and data validation strategies.

  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies in data.

  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with data manipulation and querying tools (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle).

  • Proficiency in programming in Python and experience with data manipulation libraries (e.g., pandas, NumPy).

  • Hands-on experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch) is a plus.

  • Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Hive) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field.

  • Master’s degree preferred

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$113,840.00 - $170,760.00
